Economic Stimulus Stakeholder Group MPA is heading an organized Stakeholder Group as designated by the Tucson City Council. This Group is tasked with making recommendations to the City Council on how the City can help stimulate the local economy. This issue originated with the proposition of suspending impact fees.
Stimulus Brainstorming Ideas, Recommendation
RESULT: Tucson City Council voted to defer the payment of Impact Fees in exchange for a contribution towards the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
Protected Development Rights MPA is working with the City to gain Protected Development Rights for approved projects unable to move forward at this time due to the economy. Mayor and Council authorized staff to pursue this policy and bring it back to Council March 24th.

PROP 200: MPA's position
ERZ/WASH/RIPARIAN ORDINANCE: MPA member Amanda Best of WestLand Resources serves as MPA's representative on the Resource Planning Advisory Committee (RPAC) which has been charged with creating a new ordinance combining aspects of the ERZ, Flood Control and Riparian ordinances. This is expected to go to Council early 2010.
